Amanatidis blow for GreeceWed Nov 3
The Greek National Team received a dose of bad news on Monday as reports from Germany reveal striker Ioannis Amanatidis will be unable to take part in his side's World Cup Qualifying play-off tie with Ukraine later this month. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has been ruled out for up to four weeks after it was revealed damaged cartilage in his right keen requires surgery for removal. "Ioannis will be out for a while, we don't know how long exactly, but we have a rough idea," said Frankfurt's chairman Heribert Bruchhage. The 27-year-old sat out Frankfurt's 2-1 win over the weekend to commence a stint on the side-lines that will see him miss out on Greece's fixtures against Ukraine on 14 and 18 November.
