Wed Nov 10

"In Greece we will be playing only for a win. At any rate, we’ll be doing our best to score al least one away goal.

“Greece is a good and strong rival. The match between the two squads will be interesting.

Mr.Mykhailychenko mentioned that, given Serhiy Nazarenko’s absence due to an injury, the team will be looking for new variants of the game. Liverpool’s defender Andriy Voronin is also out of action. He wasn’t even summoned for the pre-match gathering prior to a fixture with Otto Rehhagel’s charges. “Andriy and I agreed on the following. He asked me for a chance to secure a berth in his side. After this, he promised to be thankful to Ukraine team”, the coach informed.

In his words, postponing of the 13 round of the Ukrainian Premier League will do best for Ukraine as many key players saved their strength.

“We will have time to boost psychological spirit of the football players. Apart from this, the men will have time to recover their physical condition after exhausting European Cup matches”, Mykhailychenko underlined. Artem Milevsky and Dmytro Chyhrynsky agreed with their coach. Both mentioned that additional spare will allow take on Greece in the best physical and psychological form. Chyhrynsky added that there is no need to worry despite the importance of the fixture. “We are aware of the two years remaining before the 2010 FIFA World Cup due in South African Republic. Still, we shouldn’t be obsessed with this psychologically”.

The flu endemic shouldn’t impact the run-up to the clashes against Greece. “The situation is tense. You will not see any people even in the streets of Kiev! The Ukraine players are not afraid of flu. I do not think we should put an emphasis on this topic”, Ukraine’s captain Andriy Shevchenko made it clear that no force major would stop Ukraine on its way to the 2010 FIFA World Cup due in the South African Republic.
